Radicals & Radicants

On November 1st Laurie Cluitmans, Mondriaan fellow at CCS Bard, will talk about her curatorial practice and current research Radicals, Radicants, Epiphytes and Parasites.

Recently Cluitmans was awarded the Prize for Young Art Critics 2016 for her essay The possibility of a garden, on the gardens of Derek Jarman and Ian Hamilton Finlay. This essay is part of her current larger curatorial research Radicants, Radicals, Epiphytes and Parasites (made possible by the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts and the Mondriaan Fund). At CCS Bard she will continue this research further, intertwining the artist's garden in a layered field of research including contemporary notions of (queer)ecology, botany, practices of community- and radical gardening, as well as the more cultural historical tradition.
